Mark James Strohm, Sr, 85, most recently of Middletown, CT, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 17th. Mark was born in Independent (now Lebanon), PA on June 11, 1931 to the late Leroy Strohm and the late Sarah Bernice (Hummel) Strohm. He graduated from Lebanon High School in PA and served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He married Barbara (Kauffman) Strohm, to whom he was married for 60 years. Mark James Strohm, Sr, 85, most recently of Middletown, CT, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 17th. Mark was born in Independent (now Lebanon), PA on June 11, 1931 to the late Leroy Strohm and the late Sarah Bernice (Hummel) Strohm. He graduated from Lebanon High School in PA and served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He married Barbara (Kauffman) Strohm, to whom he was married for 60 years. He was employed by the Barden Corp. for almost 40 years in various positions before retiring as a supervisor in 1994. He and his wife moved to Mount Pleasant, SC after retirement where they continued to travel and enjoy life to the fullest. Mark is survived by his 4 children: Cathy (Mark) Riccio, Lori (Michael) Tassielli, Mark (Ellen) Strohm, Jr. and David (Brenda) Strohm. He has 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by his brothers Luke and Ernest Strohm and his sister Jane Bieber. In addition to traveling (especially cruising around the world), he enjoyed sports, reading and politics. He was a generous and faithful man to his family and church, loving God,his wife, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with a passion. A viewing will be held in the Rohland Funeral Home Inc. 508 Cumberland Street, Lebanon, PA, 17042 on Friday, May 26, 2017 from 2:00PM - 2:30PM with graveside services at Schaefferstown Cemetery at 3:00PM.
